a note on leadership.
sloppy leadership is not leadership at all...
no excuses.
stay ahead of the game...
no excuses.
and never assume.
communication is key. give all the information available and pertient.
-better to be clear the first time than to force a needless and awkward situation the second.
understand which situations need to be dealt with severely and which ones just need to be discussed.
always, and I mean always, allow the other person to save face.
-otherwise, you will make an enemy.
apologize to the other person even if they should be apologizing to you.
-if you can apologize for creating confusion and frustration for them, do it.
if someone offers an apology, there is never a need to make them repeat it.
-if you make them repeat it, you are insinuating that you don't believe them or don't want to.
recognize someone's intentions and commend those intentions while challenging them to take wiser actions the next time.
always end a confrontation on a positive note.
-express belief that this problem won't occur again.
-apologize for any frustration and confusion caused.
-thank them for their time and for what good they do.
